Games

Rayman 3 (PC,Xbox,PS2,Gamecube)

Honestly despite being a platformer I played when I was young,Rayman 3 is the game that truely got me into games.Playing through the game with my siblings and seeing the insane looking final boss has been a core happy memory I often think back to.Rayman 3 even now when im older still holds up as an incredible platformer in a series full of incredible platformers. Its such a shame that this is one of the final true 3d Rayman games because this game is so close to perfect in my eyes. Great controls, Memorable music, A fun and goofy story, An intresting combat system and something that I will always remember the rayman series for, Wierd and bizarre levels.Rayman 3 is a really unique game and even recognising its flaws like its reletively easy difficulty and lineararity it will always be a truely memorable game for me.Ive also completed this game more times then I even remember...maybe more then 5 or so playthroughs.

Persona 3 FES (PS2)

Another third in a games series as my favourite huh? Yup. Honestly the whole persona series could go here. Its one of my favourites. Its a series I always wanted to get into after seeing lets plays of Persona 5 when it came out so I was extremely happy when Persona 4 golden came to steam and that got me fully into Persona.Persona 4 golden is an amazing game but after finishing it I was left wanting more so I turned to Persona 3 FES.What I expected was a really cool looking game with pretty dated gameplay(atleast in comparison to the later Persona games)with great characters and an intresting story. What I actually got was pretty much all of that plus alot more.Persona 3 is proberly the best later Persona game when it comes to characters and story but I dont think any Persona game has anything on Persona 3's themes and general vibe.Persona 3 is a game all about death, loss and grief and while If you are not into its art style its easy to write it off as an edgy anime game especially with those themes Persona 3 honestly really struck a chord with me as someone whos constantly been surrounded by death especially when a few years before playing this game I went through a space of a few years where each year a known family member who I knew well would die.Persona 3 FES really is in dire need of a remake because while the gameplay is fine(As stated earlier I expected way worse,p3 can be really fun but definetly becomes a slog later on.)Everything else is incredible.P3 also started the great social link system too and its used to the best effect here too.It really feels like you are trying to micromanage your time between multiple people, ignoring them for too long actually has punishments and not every answer in dialogue during social links is a good option.Persona 3 FES really nails what it sets out to do.

Ninja Gaiden (Xbox)

God I love Ninja Gaiden. Before dark souls was the game renowned for its difficulty I definetly heard more about Ninja Gaiden and in my honest opinon It is the harder game. Its WAY more harder. Not much I can really talk about Ninja Gaiden other then its a game I return to alot.Something about the way Ninja Gaiden, The level design, The way the game feels...It all just makes it so replayable plus all the stuff that would make a game replayable like this like level ranks and other difficulties. Also I know this game has 3 different versions and ive put the original down as my favourite but thats because its how I originally played the game when I was much younger.Ive actually played all 3 versions and while Ninja gaiden:Black is the best version in my opinion, Sigma and the original are the ones ive played more. This game holds up well though no matter what version and Id really reccomend playing it if you are a fan of tough as nails hack and slash games.I also definetly prefer the look and general design of the this game over the later sequels which in my opinion took steps back sadly.

Dark Souls (XBOX 360, PS3, PC)

Dark Souls is a game I feel is similar to Ninja Gaiden with later sequels taking more step backwards then forwards.Anyway Dark souls 1 is a masterpiece.Just about everything in Dark Souls is amazing. The combat is incredible especially for an rpg which is something that really suprised me when I first played it.Its very in depth and leads to alot of replayability especially in combination with the progression which makes each new weapon and level mean something and I dont think that would really have the same impact if Dark souls was easier(No this game doesnt need an easy mode.Doing so would ruin so much of what makes Dark Souls special.)Granted ive played through it so many times that its now alot easier and actually a pretty nice game to play and relax.I also have loads of good memories doing pvp and coop in Dark Souls 1,Dark Souls 2 definetly has the better multiplayer overall and I know Dark Souls 1 multiplayer is a janky mess but that adds to the charm in a way. After beating gwyn and watching the credits roll I knew that Dark Souls as well as From Softwares games in general were some of my favourites.A game I honestly think anyone intrested in vidya should play.

Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair (XBOX ONE, PS4, PC, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo Switch)

Heres the proof that I dont hate sequels. The Danganronpa games are really great but its danganronpa 2 thats my favourite. It takes everything from the first game and improves on it with a better cast of characters that are all used well within the chapters. The class trials are also much better with only bad one in my opinion being chapter 3's trail with its wierd plot points and a pretty easy to guess killer however thats all made up for with some of the best class trails in the series with chapter 4's funhouse being an extremely memorable and sad trial with an incredible plot by the killer and of course chapter 5's trial which blew me away with how well its done.Add to that an amazing soundtrack,Really nice visuals and (beside all the killing) a pretty cozy atmosphere especially with some of the daily life music and that all made this an extremely memorable and amazing game for me.A shame that in my opinion Danganronpa 3 was a step back especially in the story aspect.

Resident evil 4 (XBOX ONE, PS4, PC, Gamecube, PS2)

It took me far too long to play Resident evil 4 but damn, when I did it was so obvious why it was so beloved. This game kicks fucking ass.Its nearly perfect in my opinion and just the right length to make replaying it something I actively enjoy doing plus its got loads of content with mercenaries and the ada side campaign and loads of stuff to unlock too. This game is also memorable to me as I saw someone playing it when I was younger with them telling me "its the scariest game ever made..." when while it may have seemed that way when I was younger its no secret that in reality resident evil 4 is more of an action game then a horror however the horror moments like the regenerators or the Novistador in the sewer area really work.I definetly think the castle area is my favourite part of the game too. Also this game got a really good vr port that ive played and beaten but they removed and censored certain cutscenes which honestly makes me kinda regret my purchase. The lines censored arnt even anything offensive (though even then id still be annoyed since I despise censorship) just casual flirtatious or gendered remarks.A real shame since besides that its one of the best vr games out right now and if you are a resident evil 4 fan its worth checking out.It is however locked behind the meta/oculus quest 2 store which is also a shame.Anyway id consider RE:4 to be a must play game.

Psychonauts (XBOX, PC)

Psychonauts use to be a cult classic however these days I think its easier to say that its just a classic especially after the release of its sequel (which after all those years I still cant believe actually turned out to be really good) did so well. While I do love psychonauts 2, Psychonauts 1 is incredible.A very wierd game with a really great concept thats used to its full potential, psychonauts is another game I think anyone intrested in games should play especially if you like platformers. For being double fines first platformer it controls and plays really well which is something I can also say for psychonauts 2 too.Level wise my favourite is black velvetopia yet I also really like the asylum level since its one of the only non mind related levels with its own set of collectables with the brains and the awesome fight against the brain tank at the end will always stick in my mind. Please play this game if you havnt already.

TF2 (PS3, XBOX 360, PC)

What can I say about tf2 that hasnt already been said? Its one of the best sequels in video game history and is one of the best multiplayer games ever made.I got back into tf2 as alot of stuff in my life was starting to get sad and depressing and tf2 has helped me out so much. Its a game really unlike anything else out there as most multiplayer games ethier go for whacky chaos or esports tryhard seriousness without finding the fine line where the game is technically complex while also having alot of silly stuff to balance it out.Its a shame valve abandoned tf2 because tf2 could be one of the most played multiplayer games today but neglect has left it with issues up the ass.Regardless this game will always be a classic and I dont think we will ever see a game like it.If you are wondering Im a medic main.

Dead Or Alive 5:Last Round (XBOX ONE, PC, PS4)

My favourite fighting game! The dead or alive games are some of the first fighting games I played and I love them. 3d fighters are definetly more my thing and while ive enjoyed 2d ones like guilty gear and street fighter something about the way 3d fighters feel is better to me.Dead or alive is also great in that the stage you play on actually matters especially when it comes to ring outs unlike most fighting games where its almost entirely visual. Why dead or alive 5 specifically though? 2 reasons. One being that its the game ive in the series ive played the most.I use to play it all the time with a close friend and while id lose more matches then id win it was still really fun especially early on as we were discovering each characters moves and strategys unlike doa 6 where it felt like most of the losses I was having against that same friend just wernt my fault and I was even using the same characters too.The second reason being that I just think the overall content and design of Doa 5 is more consistent and overall better then in the other games with a fun bonkers storyline.A good cast of characters that are all balanced...not well at all but still its fun and each character has a very different feel and playstyle that I think anyone could find someone they enjoy. Also I know its a common critique of this game and 6 but I like all the extra costumes that you can pay for.Obviously id like if they could be earned ingame(theres alot of unlocks there too)but the paid ones are nice especially since it means things like crossover costumes and just more random costumes even if there are alot of bikinis for fan service.Ayane,Hitomi,Marie Rose and Ryu Hayabusa are my favourite fighters and my least favourite is Honoka because my friend would kick my ass with her and Alpha-152 WHO IS THE MOST BROKEN CHARACTER IN A FIGHTING GAME EVER SERIOUSLY SHES JUST BETTER KASUMI WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!!11111! I HATE HER AHHHHH

Va-11 hall-a: Cyberpunk Bartender Action (PC, Nintendo switch, PS4)

When a game tells you to grab a drink and some snacks and relax and enjoy you know its going to be comfy. This game is one of the coziest ever made.A visual novel thats actually quite involved as you you can make any customer any drink. The cyberpunk aesthetic is also always a favourite of mine and its used well in va-11 with the world being a technologically advanced shithole as every good cyberpunk world should be however despite their being alot of problems in the world of va-11 hall-a its the characters and visuals themself that lead to a comfortable feeling. All of the characters are likeable despite their personal flaws with JIll Stingray herself being extremely loveable and a personal favourite. If you are ever in a bad mood then this is the game id reccomend.

Movies / TV Shows / Anime

RWBY

Rwby is probably suprising to see on a list like this but I honestly adore this show so much.I know in recent years this show has been recieving more and more hate and is actually quite a meligned show now thanks to alot of things.I blame Rwbys modern hatred down to the numerous amounts of ecelebs making videos and reviews on rwby(especially its later volumes)and people parroting their opinions as well as the shows later volumes having some questionable plot moments and character decisions and also roosterteeth as a company just generally being pretty bad and disliked. All that aside however ive been fascinated by this show since the first Red trailer popped into my youtube recomendationed feed. While I know people gush about the animation(mainly fight animation)especially during earlier volumes where monty oum, Rwbys creator was alive and in control but I stayed watching rwby even past volume 3 thanks to being in love with the world of Remnant,a world thats the aftermath of a cataclysmic event where magic is a mineral, fairy tales are essentially true, there are monsters of all different shapes and sizes and everyone is born with their own unique power is just fun to me and I think its a shame that Rwby is burried underneath so much hatred.Dont get me wrong the show has had some really bad decisions and roosterteeth as a company do indeed suck but I will always enjoy Rwby.Especially volumes 1,,2 and 3,with 3 being my personal favourite.

Panty and stocking with Garterbelt

This is my favourite anime ever.I saw this when I was far too young but have appreciated it more as ive grown up especially the humour. Its such a dumb raunchy show and I adore it.The animation is incredible and the show is really experimental with its art styles and despite the simple characters and plot it really works for a show like this and despite being a comedy the action is really good and definetly where the budget went.It also has really good music too with each track having its own personality as well as quite possibly the lewdest disc cover to an soundtrack ive ever seen.At the time im writing this,it was announced that panty and stocking is getting a second season and while im really REALLY excited it also worries me alot as psg is a classic in my eyes and a new season could ruin it and I also have a fear that it will be less raunchy or more self censored then season 1.I dont know I think it could ethier elevate the show as a whole or leave a bad mark on the show.My main hopes is that everything ive said I liked stays or is improved in season 2.Heres hoping...
